Children between the ages of 14-16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Children between the ages of 14-16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
How do they work?
Our Ebikes are fitted with pedal assisted 250W hub motors taking the effort out of pedalling up some of Bath's steeper chills. The bikes are pedal assisted with a simple LED/LCD controller allowing you to choose how much assistance you want or need. You still have to pedal but you can choose how hard you pedal and how much help the electric hub motor gives you.
How far & fast can you go?
The pedal assisted 250W hub motor has a maximum speed of 15.5mph with a range of 30-65 miles depending on how much you pedal. The more you pedal the greater the range you will achieve form the battery. Our Fiido T1 Ebikes have the greatest range up to 80 Miles.
Do our Ebikes have gears?
Our Radrunner Ebikes have a single gear (very simple to ride!) and our Benno, Synch & Fiido ebikes have gears controlled by a simplified LED control panel, you control the power with a simple “+/-” button on the bars that will cycle through the available levels of assistance.
Are the Ebikes heavy?
They are heavier than a normal bike but this is due to the battery and electric motor. However, don't worry as the bikes have a walk assist function and a robust kickstand making them easy to handle and park. When your cycling you will find that the ebikes handle like any other bikes and with the step through frame you'll have lots of confidence getting on and off the Ebike.
What is the walk assist function?
Our ebikes have a walk assist function. This feature is designed to help push the bike up a steep hill if you are dismounted from the Ebike. The grip shift control allows you move the bike at slow speed when dismounted without any requirement to pedal.
What if the battery runs out?
Each ebike will have a full charge prior to hire. This charge lasts most people for the complete period of their hire. Please be aware that the 'how far can I ride on a single battery' factor depends on a number of factors including total distance, how hilly the route and how much assistance you use. For example if you choose a hill route, use maximum power assistance and put little effort into pedalling you will achieve a lower range. You can monitor the battery level through the LED indicator on the control panel. Once the battery has been depleted the bike will continue to pedal but will be much harder as it will be functioning as a single speed bike.
Safety & Security?
A helmet is included with each hire and is recommended for your safety. Each bike also includes a lock to secure the bike when not in use and a basket for goodies!
What time can we pick our bikes up?
Bikes will be available for pick up at 09:30am.
What happens if we return the bikes late?
All bikes are to be returned no later than 4:30pm. Please note that we charge £25 per bike per 15 minutes the bike is overdue. This late fee is a condition of hire and covers the cost of staff remaining after opening hours.
Can we book a child seat?
We currently have 4 child seat available for rental. You can book this during the online booking process for £12. Please note that we only have 4 child seats so booking in advance is recommended during busy summer months. Please note that if you don't book in advance and hire directly from the shop it may delay your start time if we have to install the seat.
