Bath Bridgerton Ebike Tour

You'll be spoilt for Georgian choice whilst soaking the filming locations from Netflix's Bridgerton. We've been operating guided walking, cycling and stand up paddle board tours in Bath with wildswimbikerun.com and bathcycletours.com in Bath since 2017. We love getting people off the main streets to discover stunning period locations and places to enjoy, eat, drink and reflect.

​We've put together some information on the filming locations including a suggested route and some choice places to stop and relax along the way. For the film and TV buffs you may recognise a few familiar places from Poldark, Vanity Fair, The Duchess, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Remains of the Day, Les Misérables, Dracula (2006) amongst others including many episodes from our favourite Time Team.
We have provided a Google map route and pdf route maps which you can download with your smartphone to help you enjoy the amazing cycling we have around Bath. This is also more environmentally friendly than printed maps (which is why we don't provide them!).

The Bridgertons

No 1. Royal Crescent

The detached No.1 Royal Crescent, once casually rented by Prince Frederick Duke of York, is now a museum and was used to bring the Featheringtons’ home to life. It was solely used for its front doors when shooting external scenes. Inquisitive eyes may notice some stone scarring as a result of shrapnel from WW2 German aerial bombardment.

The Royal Crescent

The Royal Crescent in Bath was used to mimic Mayfair, London. The crescent is comprised of a row of 30 townhomes, resembling the large, stately buildings that surround Grosvenor Square, where all eight Bridgerton siblings and Featherington families both live. It’s also the filming location of Siena’s London flat.

Royal Victoria Park

While promenading around Royal Victoria Park on your Ebike, you'll find yourself immediately to the front of the Royal Crescent. Keen Bridgerton fans will notice multiple angles from which scenes outside and approaching the Bridgerton and Featherington homes were filmed.

Lady Danbury

The Holburne Museum

The exterior of wealthy widow Lady Danbury's mansion is the Holburne Museum, which houses the eclectic art collection of a rich 19th-century naval officer. It was built in 1799 as the Sydney Hotel, and it still has the last remaining English pleasure garden from the 1700s. Enjoy an al fresco treat in the cafe to the rear of the museum before exploring Sydney Gardens. 

Sydney Gardens

It was planned and laid out by the architect Harcourt Masters in 1795 and into the nineteenth century was the popular place to see and be seen by the fashionable visitors to Bath.
Sydney Gardens was frequently visited by members of the Royal family and, of course, the famous author Jane Austen who lived at number 4 Sydney Place, directly opposite. 

Great Pulteney Street

At over 1,000 feet long and 100 feet wide, Great Pulteney Street is the widest, grandest thoroughfare in Bath, flanked on either side by beautiful Georgian properties.
This beautiful street, completed in 1789, was commissioned by Sir William Pulteney and designed by Georgian architect Thomas Baldwin. You'll notice the street feature in the backdrop to a number of scenes.

Ballroom Scenes

​Bridgerton’s ballroom scenes were filmed across Bath’s ballrooms and several stately homes, with a different ball taking place in just about every episode.

The Assembly Rooms

The magnificent Assembly Rooms were at the centre of the social scene during the eighteenth century, when the Ball Room, Octagon, Tea Room and Card Room would have been used for dancing, card playing, tea drinking and conversation.
The rooms are still in use for functions and conferences, and you can visit them when they are not in use.  Grand and elegant, the Assembly Rooms are home to spectacular, original Whitefriars crystal chandeliers and the largest eighteenth-century room in the city.

The Guildhall

The Guildhall was built in the late 1770s by architect Thomas Baldwin and is crafted from the beautiful, caramel-coloured Bath stone which adorns so many historic buildings in the city.
​The Banqueting Room is the largest and most impressive room in the building and boasts original Royal oil paintings on the wall and many original Georgian features. The other significant historic room to see is the Aix-en-Provence Room which adjoins the Banqueting Room.

The Holburne Museum

On the impressive approach to The Holburne Museum, the building’s grand façade and gardens provide an inkling of its grandeur and history. The Grade I listed building was originally designed and constructed as a hotel but is now home to a collection of fine and decorative art.
The fascinating pieces that adorn one of Bath’s most beautiful buildings vary from Renaissance treasures to masterpieces by Gainsborough. There is so much to see and explore, and even if you’re a regular visitor you can discover something new with the continually-changing temporary exhibitions.

The Streets

​The streets of Bath, an ideally preserved oasis of historic architecture and Roman mineral springs, actually did most of the on-camera work for London's Mayfair, Covent Garden, Pall Mall and London street scenes.

Beauford Square

Beauford Square, used for more street filming, is a square of two-storey cottages built in 1730 to a design by John Strahan. The south side is formed by the original frontage to the Theatre Royal. In the centre was a communal garden. It is now a small rectangular lawn, enclosed with wrought iron railings.​

Bath Street

Bath Street was built by Thomas Baldwin in 1791. Several of the buildings have been designated as Grade I listed buildings.  It was originally named Cross Bath Street as it contains the Cross Bath. It is also the entrance to the much more recent Thermae Bath Spa. At the northern end of the street the buildings are continuous with those in Stall Street.

Abbey Green

Abbey Green was used to stand in for Covent Garden​ with the Abbey Deli AKA dress shop Modiste on the corner. You can also visit a scene set outside a bar, when Simon Basset has had a bit too much to drink. Filming took place outside The Columbian Company.

The Shops

Abbey Deli

Just off Abbey Green is where The Abbey Deli was transformed into dressmakers 'Modiste'. Sit and enjoy delicious tea, coffee and food in this historic Georgian building.

Kimberley

Kimberley clothing boutique on Trim Street was transformed into Lady Dee's Hat Emporium.

No 12 Trim Street

A number of scenes in Pall Mall were set outside 12 Trim Street, which was used as the exterior for Gunters Tea Shop​
